SUPPORTING FAMILIES TO TRANSFORM THE COMMUNITy
Bridging Gaps, Building Futures
Transformation Waco is the bridge that connects students and families to school readiness programs, wraparound services, and afterschool and summer programs. Our holistic approach addresses out-of-school barriers to learning by providing afterschool and early childhood development programs, onsite mental health therapy, eye examinations and glasses, as well as basic and social service support for families.
AFTERSCHOOL ACADEMIES
The AfterSchool Academies are free afterschool programs for students in the Estella Maxey and Kate Ross communities. Programs include STEAM enrichment activities, homework assistance, a meal, and more.
free eye exams
The Bernard and Audre Rapoport Vision Center at the Greater Waco Advanced Health Care Academy provides free eye exams and glasses to all Waco ISD students.
mental health
Transformation Waco is committed to eliminating barriers to learning by addressing student mental health needs through school-based, direct services provided by licensed social workers and graduate interns. Our specialists bring trauma-informed therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and group therapy directly into schools and neighborhoods—at no cost to families.
school readiness
We ensure that children from birth to four years old are happy, healthy, and ready to learn. We help build children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development, which are essential ingredients for school readiness. Our program supports parents in creating nurturing home environments and addresses barriers to family stability.
